ATTENDANCE: Greg Brooks, Mary Pastori, Shari Anthony, Ted Barbato, Jalene Bermudez, Jeff Cosgrove, Mary Erickson, Anne Hoover, Marti Wray, Doug Wray, Bob Smith, Bernie Sanders, Allison Dennis, Kim Kernohan, Karen Overleese, Cheryl Sikes, Susan Knapp, David San Juan, and Billy Kratzert

Meeting called to order - 6:35 pm by Greg Brooks, President

Membership Update – Karen Overleese

o       185 GPBC Members

o       110 Reserved seats left including parking passes

Athletic Director’s Update – Ted Barbato

o       Linda Thomson in Orange Park Medical Ctr.

o       Teams Physician – Dr. Kevin Murphy

o       Teams Rehabilitation – Brooks Rehab. Brooks donated $20 k in medical equipment for the training room and a golf cart.

o       New executive assistant is Heleen Isolica at ext. 8318.


Budget: Team Liaisons were given the new Budget Form.

Action: Form should be turned back into Ted.


o       Budget Form will be posted on the GPBC website.      

o       Bernie Sanders is still maintaining the website - www.neaseboosters.org

o       Three new sports have been sanctioned – Girls Soccer, Girls Lacrosse, Girls Weightlifting.

o       Ted is still seeking a new girls softball coach.

o       Bill Bates Classic Ticket Sales begin August 24.

o       Last year the GPBC raised over $500k and Nease was given $200k for sports programs. Usually Nease has been given $120k.

o       Thank you to Nease Mom’s - Mary Lundy, Kathy Brooks, Karen Overleese, Allison Dennis, Donna Slider, and Susan Della Porta that organized the Football Room.


Question: Transportation - School provides school busses for post-season events.

Action: Ted will have an approved bus transportation list at the September GPBC Liaison Meeting.

 


Capital Fundraising Update –  David San Juan


Goal: $100 K in new funds raised. To fulfill AD’s wish list and GPBC wish list.      

 

o       No new funds to date.

Action: Greg asked that all fundraising efforts get discussed with David so that we are not saturating the local market. Get all $1000 sponsor names and requests to David ASAP at 233-4077.


 

Treasurer’s Update – Hal Ringeisen

o       Hal asked that the team liaisons complete transaction register by the end of month even if we have no updates. Transaction registers can be obtained on the www.neaseboosters.org website and can be sent as a PDF. Hal can be reached at 280-0771 phone, 280-0773 fax and his email is hal@rwadvisor.com. The GPBC account manager is Angela at angela@rwadvisor.com .

o       Hal’s address is 200 Solano Rd., Suite C, PVB, FL 32082.

o       June reconciliation reports given to all attending liaisons.

o       Transitioning Liaisons must get bank signature cards from Wachovia to be signed by Hal and Greg Brooks, in order to take over the team’s bank account.


Question: General budget set and Day of Champions event profit?

Action: GPBC President, VP and Treasurer to complete by September.


o       Teams are not given amounts that parents give to GPBC only levels, and any contributor’s name. Contributors can call Greg Brooks and get that information if they need to.


Question: Teams P&L?

 Action: Hal teams providing P&L to    Ted and Greg.




President’s Update – Greg Brooks


Proposal:  Made by a Football Liaison for teams that utilize the football stadium share in the cost of the paint to re-paint the stadium. No vote was taken.

Action: Football Liaison to get back to the GPBC with a final cost and a vote will take place.


Proposal:  Made by Basketball Liaisons and Coaches for the purchase of a $3,300 scorers table and chairs and that all teams that use the gym share in the cost equaled to $792 per team and $792 from the general fund.

Motion: Proposal for scorers table & chairs approved unanimously.     


 

o       Bernie Sanders stated that four District Basketball games will be broadcast via the Internet.
